Developing a Relationship With God

Image result for godly relationship

Just like your relationship with other people is different, no two relationships with God are the same either, but still, there is a common thread among Christians. It is a moral thread that longs for truth and justice to stand out in a corrupt world. Hopefully, at some point, we realize that we need to seek God’s will for our lives. Some people over a period of time have distanced themselves so far from their Creator that they seem to have shaken faith syndrome. This tends to lead towards questions like why would God allow bad things to happen? For others, they have found scripture that answers this question very clearly. When we find ourselves wanting all that true love, peace and joy have to offer, we will be found walking in faith towards the one who gave His all for us, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Below are a few suggestions on how to start a walk with God.

  • Start your day by talking to God.
  • Search scriptures and find some that will help bring wisdom to the things that typically arise in your day.
  • Continuously talk to God, search His word, and listen before making decisions that affect the lives of you and others.
  • Find time even if it’s just for a few minutes to listen or read the word of God for strength and direction.
  • Know God’s character and understand why He has always guided His loved ones with boundaries for their well being.
  • Once you understand where God is coming from, seek His forgiveness and guidance. See different types of prayers listed below on the many different ways to connect with God.
  • Trust Him. Step out in Faith by sharing your faith with others. When you are sincere, people will know you are a Christian by your love. Visit Christian Service link.
  • Do daily devotions with friends or family members.
  • End your day by sharing your thoughts and dreams with God. He eagerly waits for you daily. Rejoice in Him and give Him praise.
  • Talk to God all the time and listen to Him. God has many different ways to speak to your heart, so beware and watch for His signs and how He is leading you. He wants to be your Best Friend if you let Him.
